1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the NextStep application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

NextStep is a comprehensive interview tracking application designed to help job seekers manage, prepare for, and succeed in their job hunts. The Service provides features including, but not limited to, application and interview tracking, a smart resume analyzer, an interview practice hub, and smart reminders. All user data is stored locally on your device by default, with optional cloud backup features.

3. User Accounts and Demo Mode

You may use the Service with or without an account. The Service offers a "Demo Mode" which allows you to explore its full functionality with pre-populated sample data without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for any activities or actions under your account.

4. User-Generated Content

You retain full ownership of the content you create and store within the Service, including but not limited to resume data, job application details, interview notes, and contact information ("User Content").

By using features such as the "Smart Resume Analyzer," you grant the Service a temporary, local license to process your User Content (e.g., your resume) solely on your device to provide you with feedback and scores. Your resume and personal data are not uploaded to our servers for this analysis.

5. Data Privacy and Backups

Your privacy is a priority. All your User Content is stored locally on your device. The Service does not send your personal job application data to a backend server. We may use anonymous analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app.

The Service provides an optional feature to back up your data to your personal Google Drive account. This process is under your control. We are not responsible for any data loss that may occur. It is your responsibility to manage your backups.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. NextStep makes no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements or be available on an uninterrupted, secure, or error-free basis. The "Smart Resume Analyzer" provides suggestions and is not a guarantee of job success.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall NextStep, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms of Service on this page. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
